Nice Summer Home
A bit of bobbing up and down in about 4' seas, we are relieved to enter Boca de Quadro. Its a long inlet just north of Foggy Bay and we will wait out the winds that are dying, but still present after the storm. We cruise in about ten miles to Mink Bay. All of the bays and inlets in Boca de Quadro are named after animals so we expect that we will see some wildlife. We don't see much but that may be due to the "Trapline" signs along most of the shores. Best find a safe shore for the doggy bathrooms! We spot a beautiful lodge or what we think is a lodge with totems and what appears to be a longhouse. Not so we find out after Dave goes exploring. This particular lodge is a private summer place for a "Floridian" who seemingly enjoys the north. All of the totems are likenesses of him and his family and the "Longhouse" appears to be a cabin. Money doesn't always buy tasteful stuff, but we are sure his ego has been sufficiently stroked. A calm and quiet nite.

  1. My name is David Franklin and I carved two of the poles. Only the chief on the chest represents the owner of the lodge with his family represented as creatures climbing up the pole. Each pole depicts something different. The figures on the entry pole represent the Master carver and his family that taught me to carve. I learned to carve in that longhouse in Wahshington State prior to it being moved to the site.

Always good to have the facts before judging.
