Day 7 - Fury Cove to Shearwater

A barbeque on the beach poop out Dave and Scupper

An evening around the fire

An uneventful trip from Fury Cove to Shearwater. Yeah....no cooking tonight - pub dinner for all and Game 1 of the "Canucks get the Cup"!

Lots of changes at Shearwater! No power, no water and its not safe to walk your dogs far from the marina. A storm came through in February of this year with sustained winds of 115 knots (Hurricane force) -- its ripped all the docks apart and wreaked havoc with alot of the land stuff. Fuel is weirdly priced at the fuel dock with gasoline being cheaper than Diesel. No maka da sense! Gasoline is 1.39 and Diesel is $1.41 (Plus HST). The fuel dock attendant told us a story of his wife taking their dog for a run on the road - a pack of wolves snatched the dog away, even with his girlfriend tossing boulders at them. They must of really needed food! So Kobi and Scupper are allowed to do their business on the lawn in front of the pub. We haven't come this far for our babies to become wolf food. Speaking of animals --- George the cat is still on board and has made no attempt to leave the safety of the ship. When we have been anchored, he has made trips to the other boats but I find him sound asleep at the foot of the bed in the mornings! He must of really understood Mike when he was told that we would not be waiting for him to come home at any of our stops!

For those coming up to Shearwater this summer -- make sure you have enough water to get you to Ocean Falls for a water fill. The water in Shearwater is not potable.

A dreary day - with a heavy mist, but no fog and no wind.
