July 31 – Pearce Canal

Wayne Trying to make use of his Alaskan Fishing Licence
Our last stop in American Waters. We stern anchored in an unnamed bay behind an unnamed island in Pearce Canal. One side of the canal is Canadian Water and the other side is US water. Tucked inside Pearce Canal is what we estimate to be the northern most saltwater fishing lodge in BC – Eagle Point Lodge. We were trying to figure out the semantics of fishing licences when one stays at the lodge, do you need just a Canadian Licence or do you need both US and Canadian?
Its our last night of playing cards for US money, its settle up time after the last game. No one got hurt in any sort of big way as we have been playing for 5 weeks now. Time to start up in Rupert again tomorrow night after customs and a night in the pub.

Large spring Salmon are finning and jumping in the bay that we are anchored, Mike and Dave decide to spin a few casts to see if any of them will be stupid enough to jump on their lines. No luck on the fish and nothing in the crab trap.
