June 29 - Chuck Meyers to Blashke Islets

Humpback brunching

Gunkholing through the Blashke's
Totem Similarities?

Today is the first time in a few weeks where we have felt the sun. Blue sky, no wind and our plans take us up Douglas Channel up to Blashke Islets. We spot a pod of Orkas enroute and stop to watch a couple of humpbacks playing. A very tricky entrance (of course) into a very neat set of islets in the middle of Douglas Channel is our night stop. We go highspeed gunkholing at very slow speeds as there are more rocks than a pebble beach strewn throughout these islets. Very picturesque, but devoid of wild life.
