May 28 - Fury Cove

Waiting for the Homemade French Fries
Stick Time, Nice to stretch those legs
White Sandy Beaches Everywhere
View from the Boats

An hour and half run across River Inlet into Fury Cove this morning. We ran into Friends of Wayne and Cathy, "Pasttime" - a beautiful 58' Nordhaven. Our escapades by dinghy are quite tame compared to those boys!
Wayne has been lusting for fresh cut french fries and burgers on the beach (a repeat of 2004) so we obliged him by taking the butane cooker and grate for the fire and having a great open air feast on the white sandy beaches of Fury. No Whales this time, but great company and a bit of wind. Or is that lots of hot air and grate company?
One strange thing we did hear while on the beach is the meow of a domestic cat, the dog found the cat, but we have not seen it and if its been there for a while, it is more than likely feral. What Kayaker would lose a cat on an island like that? Better yet, what Kayaker took his cat with them in the kayak, that is the question that begs answering. But seriously, if a cat fell off someones boat, they probably don't even know it made it to Penrose Island. We left some french fries behind and hope that eventually someone saves the poor cat.
